Glindon's wise and thought-provoking tweets for the day.

  • 20:50 @susstudio I know that you follow Liverpool, but you seem to care more about the Liverpool 96 than the Bolton 33, your actual team. #

Anne

Hold the front page, the television event of the year is on it's way! Words cannot put into words how much I love this show. As several of you are also on my Facebook and Twitter you're probably sick of me going about this, but I couldn't give a shit! I don't watch a lot of television but this is my thing! I just hope that it's as good now that Anne and Mark are dead (and there has still be no explanation for Anthony Knivert simply disappearing from the script!) And yes I know that I know what happens, in fact I reckon I know more than all of you, but it's still going to be awesome, and Joss Stone is apparently brilliant. I love Mary in this as well, any production that makes her a likeable character have done well in my book as she's been so vilified by history, mostly (but not completely) with good reason. This is also the only series that has actually cast an actress who looks the right age to be Katherine Howard. Man, Tudors at 9pm and then True Blood at 10pm, I'm not going out on Friday nights for a looooooooong time. Eep, I haven't been this excited about something on TV since the second series of Queer as Folk back in 2000. I know a few people whinge about it not being historically accurate, but what piece of entertainment is? I've read enough books to know that a large proportion of what is portrayed actually happened, and I've seen enough film and television to know that this is by far the most accurate version (don't even get me started on The Other Boleyn Girl). Anne's execution at the end of the last series was simply breath taking, and the attention to detail was magnificent. Some say that they're turning our history into a soap opera, but what is a soap opera? Love, marriage, birth, divorce, death, murder, betrayal, family, loyalty, friendship, war, infidelity, sex, duplicity, secrets, lies. It's Eastenders 500 years ago, the only difference is that this actually happened! And there's no Phil Mitchell......

The Tudors Series 3 - Friday 21st August at 9pm on BBC 2

Amnesty

Just when I think Jeremy Irons can't get any more awesome, I remember this little gem, on behalf of Amnesty International and Protect the Human. He's so eloquent, and puts into words so well everything I stand for and the main reason/issue I joined Amnesty in the first place.

So it's over, I'm officially a qualified teacher and will very soon be let loose on young, impression children without the L plates. I had a wonderful last day of hunting minibeasts and watching the Kinetic theatre before having a party in the classroom, complete with Hannah Montana and my entire class spontaneously breaking into the Thriller dance. I was a little overwhelmed by all the cards, flowers and presents I got from the children, especially those who I've had to be quite harsh on the past 10 weeks, but I was doing fine until when most of the children had gone home and I suddenly welled up and nearly lost it. The feeling went as quickly as it came but it was a little surprising considering I've always been a 'just get on with it' kind of person. But I'm meeting my new class on Tuesday for the transition day, and then have four days supply work at my new school in year 6 and in nursery which is going to be weird since I'm a lower KS2 specialist. We're heading out in Yarm tonight to celebrate with champagne and cocktails in which I intend to be suitably drunk and maybe even snag myself a footballer; their standards have no doubt slipped now that we've been relegated. I can't believe that almost a year has past since I started my teacher training; they said that it would be the hardest, most intense but quickest year of our lives and they were right. But I've came through it in one piece with only three little breakdowns of note, new friends who I'll know for the rest of my life, some awesome memories and a year's contract in a school rated 'outstanding' by Ofsted, I have my QTS. There were times where the children were the only thing getting my through it, and I know that I have many, many trying times to come but now I can't wait to start my vocation.

  • 12:40 I'm doing my first school trip tomorrow, taking both y3/4 classes to the Botanical Gardens in Durham. How likely is it that I lose a child? #
  • 12:41 Turkish Grand Prix - just had to say it because nothing I'm interested in is ever a trending topic. I wanna see my name come up Goddamn it! #
  • 12:43 My sister is watching Hollyoaks, good job I'm watching the F1 or I'd be an emotional wreck again watching Justin leave Hannah behind. #
  • 12:48 52 degrees C on the track? That should not be possible! Is the grand prix coming from Mercury or something?! Glindon's melting point is 40! #
  • 13:22 @susstudio Well Brawn are a GB team anyway......a u-turn if ever I saw one, most people just support drivers! #

  • 18:55 4-0, very nice. Now onto cider and a chinese me thinks...... #
  • 18:56 Question: who supports F1 teams and who supports F1 drivers? #
  • 18:58 I support British drivers regardless of teams, so does anyone actually support e.g. Kovalainen over Button just coz he drives for McClaren? #
  • 20:44 @susstudio You seem more bothered about Denmark winning than England. #
  • 20:46 @benjimmin Oh God, absolutely. How many times did he say 'Kazhakstan should be 1-0 up' - offside is offside you Moron! #
  • 22:12 @susstudio So you'd rather Kovalainen won the Chamionship than Button? That's...odd. McClaren haven't a hope in hell of a driver winning. #
  • 22:13 The diary room chair this year is the best yet!! #
